The origin of School of Political Science and International Studies (SPSIS) is the Department of Political Science, one of three major departments founded firstly in Guangxi University for Nationalities, which was founded in June 1960.
School of Political Science & International Studies was set up in February 2010. Currently, SPSIS has a study base at the level of Autonomous Region “the study base of the Project to Study and Develop Marxist Theory” and a research center built by the central government and local governments “the research center of ethnic minority area’s political and legal construction”.
The school is the institution having right to confer a first class course master’s degree of Marxist Theory. Now it has nine specialties having right to confer master’s degree, including theory of political science, Chinese history of the CPC, moral science, basic theory of Marxism, the history of Marxism, Chinese Marxism, Research on Marxism in Foreign Countries, ideologi
For half a century, the school always perseveres in the socialist orientation in education provision, takes the responsibility of cultivating high-quality compound national cadres and professional talents, keeps reforming cultivation model and extends cultivation channels, it has turned out more than 20000 graduates.
